Bloom (2016) explores the role of feminine beings in art, both as the artist and the object. Flowers are embroidered into canvas in the form of body hair to clash traditionally feminine craft with the rejection of beauty standards. Ancient statues serve as a reference to classicism, redefined in contemporary aesthetics. This callback reflects the progression, or lack of thereof, of the presentation of women and feminine presenting people in art history and contemporary art culture.
